Many cities today both big and small are spending billions of dollars on the elimination of untreated overflows. Maximizing the impact of expenditures is the noble goal of many cities currently under EPA’s consent decree. Our distinguished speakers represent viewpoints of EPA, Utilities from the West Coast and Midwest, as well as Academia – all with vested interests in exploring potential options to eliminate wet weather-related pollution.
This panel will discuss sustainable treatment technologies, the future of green infrastructure, the effectiveness of collection methods as well as smart sensory technologies and solutions related to the Internet of Things. Upcoming regulations on this topic will also be addressed. Our workshop will explore how the Utilities of the Future will balance these approaches and ultimately eliminate wet weather-related pollution. This workshop will be of particular interest to anyone looking to eliminate wet weather-related pollution and become a notable Utility of the Future.
